A New York Case Turns Into A Huge Victory For Electronic Cigarette Users

Electronic cigarette versus dirty smelly normal cigarette buttsPeople who vape normally take more time defending what they do rather than celebrating and sharing the good it can do to quit smoking tobacco. Finally, the vaping community has a victory to celebrate. In a New York case called “People vs. Thomas,” a judge finally sided with the fact that electronic cigarettes contain no tobacco and should not be treated as tobacco products anymore.

 

While the case carried on, the state made an argument that since they know so little about e-cigarettes, they should be kept under the same tobacco laws until all of the risks are fully understood. The judge obviously disagreed with this and stated that it should not be grouped in with tobacco laws. This is especially true because the device has no tobacco in it at all. The New York smoking law defines smoking as, "the burning of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, or any other matter of substance which contains tobacco."
